Isolated Signal Conditioners for Backpanels

Voltage Input Modules, Narrow Bandwidth 3 Hz (8B30/8B31)

8B modules are an optimal solution for monitoring real-world process signals and providing high-level signals to a data acquisition system. Each 8B30/31 module isolates, filters, and amplifies a voltage input signal and provides an analog voltage output.

Signal filtering is accomplished with a 5-pole filter optimized for time and frequency response which provides 70 dB of normal-mode rejection at 60 Hz. One pole of this filter is on the field side of the isolation barrier for anti-aliasing, and the other four are on the system side.

A special input circuit on the 8B30 modules provides protection against accidental connection of power-line voltages up to 240 VAC. Clamp circuits on the I/O and power terminals protect against harmful transients.

Isolation is provided by optical coupling to suppress transmission of common mode spikes or surges. The module is powered from + 5 VDC, ± 5%.

The modules are designed for installation in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations and have a high level of immunity to environmental noise.


Voltage Input Modules, 1kHz Bandwidth 1 kHz (8B40/8B41)

8B modules are an optimal solution for monitoring real-world process signals and providing high-level signals to a data acquisition system. Each 8B40/41 module isolates, filters, and amplifies a voltage input signal and provides an analog voltage output.

Signal filtering is accomplished with a 5-pole filter optimized for time and frequency response which provides 100 dB per decade of normal-mode rejection above 1 kHz. One pole of this filter is on the field side of the isolation barrier for anti-aliasing, and the other four are on the system side.

A special input circuit on the 8B40 modules provides protection against accidental connection of power-line voltages up to 240 VAC. Clamp circuits on the I/O and power terminals protect against harmful transients.

Voltage Output Modul 100 Hz (8B49)

8B modules are an optimal solution for monitoring real-world process signals and providing high-level signals to a data acquisition system. Each 8B49 module accepts an input signal from a non-isolated source, then isolates, filters and converts the signal to a high-level process voltage output.

Signal filtering is accomplished with a 4-pole filter optimized for time and frequency response which provides 80 dB per decade of normal-mode rejection above 100 Hz. One pole of this filter is on the system side and the other three are on the isolated field side.

A special output circuit in the 8B49 module provides protection against accidental connection of power-line voltages up to 40 VAC continuous. Clamp circuits on the I/O and power terminals protect against harmful transients.

The modules are designed for installation in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations and have a high level of immunity to environmental noise.


Spannungseingangsmodul 20 kHz (8B50/8B51)

8B modules are an optimal solution for monitoring real-world process signals and providing high-level signals to a data acquisition system. Each 8B50/51 module isolates, filters, and amplifies a voltage input signal and provides an analog voltage output.

Signal filtering is accomplished with a 5-pole filter optimized for time and frequency response which provides 100 dB per decade of normal-mode rejection above 20 kHz. One pole of this filter is on the field side of the isolation barrier for anti-aliasing, and the other four are on the system side.
